Who Is This?

Hi, my name is Marcus Norrgren. With 15+ years in tech and 5 in data/AI, I started this site as a place to explore more around the why and the meaning technology can have. I have always enjoyed when technology creates value or impacts society or people in a positive and meaningful way — a topic and maybe a tool in how to drive tech and product development.

What Is This Site?

Raison d'Tech is an exploration of technology's purpose, impact, and meaning. A common theme is a connection to purpose, meaning and technology's various uses as well as how we can affect it. It is structured in three sections:

• Thoughts — Passive observations and reflections. More brief formats that capture thoughts rather than fully-formed thinking.
• Articles — More grounded, researched arguments or deep dives which include sources. I note how AI was used in writing and check all sources myself.
• Experiments — Theory is safe; doing, testing, and applying is informative and fun. These are living experiments with ongoing field notes posted as updates unfold.

On AI Usage

I use AI in my stack. I point out how it has been used in each piece, and how an article has been written. I read and check sources of all articles. It is interesting to see how much AI vs traditional writing I will do and cope with, especially in these hyper-automation times.
